Controller
Position Overview: Our client is seeking a Controller to join its growing leadership team. This hands-on role will partner closely with ownership to oversee the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, payroll, and internal controls while helping maintain accurate, timely financial information. The ideal candidate has a strong construction accounting background, enjoys working in a collaborative environment, and is looking for an opportunity to grow as the company continues to expand.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end close

Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting analyses

Manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with payroll regulations

Maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies

Prepare budgets, forecasts, cash flow reports, and financial analyses

Coordinate annual audits, tax reporting, and compliance activities

Monitor financial performance and recommend process improvements

Partner with ownership to support strategic business decisions and continued growth

Support accounting system optimization and process improvements

Mentor and develop accounting staff as the organization grows
Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required

5+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibilities

Construction industry experience required

Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, job costing, and payroll

Experience with construction accounting software; Spectrum experience preferred

CPA preferred

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
